These Chocolate Chip Protein Cookies were created to increase protein needs during perimenopause. They’re a healthier alternative to expensive processed foods. There are more recipes in my book Trina’s Kitchen: Healthy Food Made Easy. These protein cookies are vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free. If the batter is a little dry, just add a splash of milk. 1 cup almond flour

½ tsp baking powder

Salt to taste

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ cup maple syrup

1 egg

1 tbsp plant based milk

How to Make Chocolate Chip Protein Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉ (175℃) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
  3. Whisk wet ingredients in a separate bowl until smooth.
  4. Combine dry and wet ingredients and mix until a thick cookie dough forms (they will be sticky).
  5. If the dough is too dry, add a splash of milk.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Use a spoon or medium ice cream scoop to form small cookie balls.

  10. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before serving

Trina’s Tidbits:
