Low iron? Start simple. I recently got bloodwork back and my iron levels were low.

Instead of overcomplicating things, I’m focusing on simple, intentional meals that help support the body—starting with something as basic as a sandwich.

Because the truth is…

It’s not just what you eat.

It’s how you combine it and absorb it.

Boost Your Energy with This Iron-Packed Sandwich 💪

Feeling low on energy? It might not be your schedule—it could be your iron intake.

This quick turkey sandwich is a simple way to add more iron into your day without overthinking it. The key isn’t just the iron… it’s how you pair it.

💡 Pro tip: Add vitamin C foods like pickled onions or peppers to help your body absorb more iron from your meal.

🥪 My Go-To Iron-Boosting Sandwich

      • Hummus
    • Nitrate-free turkey (or any animal protein you prefer)
    • Lettuce
    • Tomatoes
  • Yellow peppers
  • Pumpkin seeds, raw and unsalted
  • Fresh lemon juice

💡 Why This Works

Here’s where most people go wrong with iron…

They focus on adding iron—but forget about absorption.

This combo does both:

      • Hummus + pumpkin seeds → plant-based iron
      • Turkey → heme iron (easier for your body to absorb)
      • Lemon juice + peppers + tomatoes → vitamin C to BOOST absorption

👉 This is the difference between eating healthy… and eating smart.

Even if you’re eating iron-rich foods…

👉 Drinking coffee or tea with your meal can reduce absorption.

Try spacing it out by 1–2 hours if iron is a concern (this was hard for me because I love Matcha!)

👊 Keep It Simple

You don’t need a complicated plan.

One upgrade.

This is exactly what I’m doing right now—and it all adds up.

💬 Final Thought

If your energy feels off, your workouts feel harder, or your body just isn’t responding the way it used to…

Start simple.
