“The first six months after my first child was born was a personal struggle. The 50+lb pregnancy weight gain that everyone promised would disappear after childbirth lingered and my body was under a lot of strain. Every joint hurt and trying to stand up from off the floor with an infant was such a challenge that I worried for my son’s safety. Uncomfortable with myself, I shied away from cameras and people. It took months before I gathered enough courage to venture out but I finally did.

This is when I met some wonderful ladies who talked about Fit4Females. I had heard of F4F before, but being out of shape with a new child I thought I couldn’t possibly fit in and be expected to work out with them. I was wrong!

In September 2013 I joined F4F and from day one I knew this was the place for me and I was hooked! I had signed up for gym memberships before but never followed through, I knew this place would be different so I signed up for the Hard Core membership.

At Fit4Females, I never felt judged, I was accepted for who I was and found the motivation I needed. The Trainers are amazing and knowledgeable; guiding everyone through tough workout routines making sure moves are done correctly and safely while providing modifications when needed. I was encouraged to keep going when I thought I wanted to stop and give up. The Trainers knew I was stronger than I gave myself credit for.

With my second pregnancy, I thought my journey at F4F would stop but with Trina and all the experienced Trainers, I was guided through various modifications until a few weeks before delivery.

I had more energy, was better able to move and labour and recovery was drastically different. Lincoln was born 45 minutes after my first contraction. I was home after 24hrs, up cooking breakfast and visiting family in Niagara. I credit it all to working out while pregnant and I couldn’t have done it without Trina and her Team.

I returned to F4F six weeks after Lincoln was born. I signed up for Trina’s Coaching Program. I knew to make this a lasting change I needed to focus on nutrition. Through Express Fit, Trina provided our group with a weekly challenge and workout. She gave us an outlet to communicate with other members so that we could encourage one another and she gave us the knowledge and tools that we needed to make a healthy lifestyle change.

Twenty months after my first ever class at F4F, I am a very different woman. I am the mother of a two year old and eight month old. I am stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally. I am more knowledgeable about what I should and should not be eating, I went from a size 14/16 to a size 4/6 and I am 95 lbs. lighter. I have gained confidence in myself that I don’t think I would have found if I had not signed up at F4F. Most importantly, my sons and I have made long lasting friendships with a bunch of strong wonderful women and their kids!
