Today’s Spotlight is a special one for me because I have had the direct pleasure of leading Ashleigh in my Stroller Fitness and Adult Boot Camp Programs as well as my Private Online Train with Trina Programs. This is Ashleigh’s third round in my 8 week Program and she has a lot to teach us. She is truly learning to love herself and her post baby body.
It’s easy to want fast results and Ashleigh will tell you she is a “numbers” driven person. Patience is not easy when all you want are results on the scale. I want to tell you about the incredible TRANSFORMATION Ashleigh has had with both weight loss and inches (30 pounds and 31.2 inches) but the truth is, her results are so much more powerful than that. She is truly transforming her negative thinking, old bad habits and years worth of not loving herself.

Tell us why you joined Fit4Females?
After having my first baby I was struggling adapting to being a new mom with a preterm baby, while also dealing with the closing of the company that I had worked for. I was lonely and felt very isolated. I was not working out and I was making horrible food choices. I started to gain weight instead of losing my baby weight. I joined F4F because I wanted to lose weight, but I also wanted to try to find “Me” again, as I felt that I had lost myself with so many changes happening in my life.
What thoughts did you have before joining Fit4Females?
I was very nervous before my first class, and in fact, made excuses delaying trying a class for almost two months! I had initially tried another fitness company prior to F4F, but I found that they were not able to accommodate limitations that I had developed postpartum. My new body felt foreign and I felt like it was working against me.
Tell us about your first Fit4Females workout
When I attended my first class, Erika’s smiling face greeted me as I walked into the building. She was the driving force behind me putting an end to my excuses and finally giving a class a try. I was very nervous and uncomfortable. She knew about my limitations with my wrists and hands, and during the workout jumped in when necessary to ensure I was comfortable with the modifications.
Why do you love Fit4Females and the Team Leaders?
I have so much love for Fit4Females and the Team Leaders! Right from day one I was never centered out, or felt like I was getting less of a workout due to needing modifications. They always took the time to make sure that I was getting a workout that was equally as challenging without causing additional injury to myself. I love that the Team Leaders take the time to get to know the members. You get individualized attention, even though it’s a group class.
I love that there is no judgment made, and it doesn’t matter whose baby is crying throughout the class and whose isn’t. Trina jumps right in and helps out. I have actually seen her pushing two strollers around the gym while teaching a class!
The Team Leaders also know how to motivate and inspire! It’s their encouragement that keeps me going, even when I think that I can’t do it any more. I love that every class is a different workout. Some weeks I have attended 6 classes, and I love how every workout was different.
What improvements have you made since joining Fit4Females?
Since joining Fit4Females I have started to eat healthier and cleaner. I plan out my meals and snacks each week. I am learning the correct foods to fuel my body, and I pay more attention to the ingredients in my food.
The classes at F4F are my happy place, and my week is not complete unless I attend. I have lost pounds and inches, but more importantly, I feel my body getting stronger.
I have more confidence then I did 6 months ago, and I am learning to be more accepting of myself, and to love my flaws as much as my strengths – that’s what makes me who I am.
Any encouraging advice you can share with our Readers?
If you are thinking about trying a class, stop thinking about it and just do it! It will be the best decision that you make. F4F is the most supportive community that I have ever been a part of, and I can’t imagine my life without it.
