I am proud to feature Lil in our Fit4Females Member Spotlight. Lil came to us feeling very frustratedbecause she suffered from a diastasis recti (abdominal separation) from pregnancy. This injury is common but extremely difficult to accept as a woman. We hear from many of our Members that come to us from other Fitness Programs that are either unaware of what this “injury” is or they are unable to accommodate for modifications. This makes you feel alone, frustrated and helpless. Working out with a Diastasis Recti is possible, you just need the right Trainer and you need to know your limits. This is what separates Fit4Females from the rest of the Gyms and Fitness Programs in our area. Our specialized skills allow us to make every member inclusive. Here is Lil’s story…

I joined Fit4Females because I discovered through them that I might be able to close my diastis recti without surgery.
Tell us about your first Fit4Females workout and what made you stick with us
When I first walked into the gym I was surprised that there wasn’t a bunch of machines to work out on…but I QUICKLY realized the workouts that Trina puts us through are even more physical than a traditional gym. Who would have thought that bars, benches, ropes and boxing gloves would kick me in the butt?! On top of the awesome work out, I had Trina telling me what moves/positions I couldn’t do because of my diastasis. It was a personalized work out with a knowledgeable trainer. She didn’t win her awards for nothing! I’ve stuck with F4F because it’s not just about working out…it’s about motivation, nutrition and support in other areas of a woman’s world!
Why do you love Fit4Females and the Team Leaders?
I love F4F because the trainers are always watching, telling me where to modify. They are genuinely an amazing, caring and knowledgeable team. They specialize in women and the issues we face (not just in terms of body shape).
What has Fit4Females done to go above and beyond?
Trina is always challenging us with ways to improve our lives. A traditional gym could care less about us once we walk out the door. The 8 week Train with Trina program is an example of going above and beyond.
What has been your biggest non-scale win since joining Fit4Females?
My biggest non-scale win is definitely improved self-worth. It has made me realize the importance of putting time aside for myself and to really care for myself emotionally and physically.
Any encouraging advice you can share with our Readers that are not putting themselves first or nervous to join?
For anyone on the fence about joining, get off! The people you meet here will be the most encouraging, supportive bunch you will ever meet. We are all shapes and sizes, all with varying levels of abilities, but all with the same goal – to improve ourselves in some way.
Anything else you would love to share?
Besides the Trainers being incredible, I must share that the ladies that come here are as well. There’s no competition…just true support. I have had complete strangers help me and encourage me and even lend me things that they thought might help my diastasis. It really is like a big family!
