Salad dressing can be toxic if buying from the grocery store.  Make your own, it’s cheaper and you avoid chemicals.  My Tidbits this week are favourite salad dressing recipe, tips for an epic salad and tips to crush your day.  I want you to feel lean, strong and healthy.  Put this into action for 90 days and see what happens mood, energy and waistline.  We don’t realize how much stress and the act of not moving daily, messes with our mood, hormones and body fat.  Come to our Studio for a FREE class if you want Group Fitness class motivation.

If you are trying to eat healthy and get more greens here are some tips to make your salad tasty and remove some of the dirt and critters before you ingest them.  Right now there is a recall on Romaine Lettuce in Canada so try this amazing Kale Parmesan Salad with Dates recipe here.

Tip #1: Wash

  • Wash produce in advance so it’s grab and go and you can avoid reaching for carbs
  • Soak veggies in baking soda and a bit of vinegar to reduce the critters and germs
  • Store in glass clear containers, the pretty colours will grab your attention in the fridge

Tip #2: Soak

  • Soak onions in water so they are not as strong for salad

  • Make your own salad dressing and store in a mason jar
  • I use 1/4 cup of Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar,
  • 1-2 gloves of Garlic
  • 1 tsp. of Herbamare
  • It keeps well in the pantry and is ready to go… skip the store bought chemicals

Rise and grind and seize the day.  Focus on solutions and not the ton of “To Do’s” you have.  Attitude is everything.  Here are three tips to practice daily to reduce stress and change your health. You can also check out my Fitness Goals Tips where I dish out a 7 Day Free Workout Plan for you.

#1 Drink More Water

You’ve heard it before but drink up champ! Fill up your water bottle and drink it all day long.  Herbal teas count.  Even if you are not thirsty, sip water daily.  Try this Lemon Ginger Water recipe.

#3 Stand up Tall

Our parents always told us to “sit up straight” and they were right.  Sitting and standing tall with your shoulders back and down will help you immediately feel better and change your brain chemistry.  When you feel sad, down or just not well, try standing up and imaging you are 7 feet tall and a super hero!  It works so give it a try.
