Get F4F fit for the Holidays! We all know the song “Twelve Days of Christmas” and how catchy it is. We are going to use that song to kick your butt during the holidays and help keep you energized to battle the crowds during your shopping excursions. Try Trainer Trina’s Christmas workout and battle belly and body fat early before the New Year.
How does it work?
We reverse the song from 12 and work our way down all the way to 1. For example you will start with 12 reps of the first exercise (12 Santa Squat Kicks) “On the 12th day of Christmas my Trainer gave to me, 12 Santa Squat Kicks”.
Once 12 is complete, you start the song from the top at 12 reps again and then move on to exercise 11. Once you have finished 12 and 11, the song starts over at 12, 11 and then add exercise 10 and so on. After every new set, you must start the song over again. Doesn’t that sound fun?
To make this workout even more Challenging, try for the least amount of rest possible. When you’re done you will have completed 639 total reps and a very serious calorie and fat burning workout.?No equipment is needed, it’s all about you.

Oh this looks tough but exactly what I need to get my butt in gear for the new year!! Thanks Santa Trina!
You are welcome. It sure is tough but you are going to feel amazing when it is finished!
Great Workout! I really like how the transitions are smooth. Thank you Trina! Can’t wait to try it again tomorrow and better my time 😀
Thanks Erin, I had the transitions in mind for a nice smooth sweaty sailing! Thanks for being a part of the challenge!
Day 1: 21:10 with Max Plank!
Well the 12 days of Christmas challenge, made me sweat, but I felt great afterwards. I completed the challenge in 17:56 and that’s with a max plank! Thank you Trina Medves for this. Just what I needed.
You are so welcome Kali and thanks so much of your participation! Great time and amazing effort!
Well, the challenge definitely made me sweat! My kids decided to try it with me which slowed things down a bit but overall, not too shabby. Took me 22:37.
I love that your kids wanted to do it with you. That is awesome. I wouldn’t worry about your time at all that is so special! Great work Shelley!
Thank goodness there are only 5 burpees in a row. I was getting my “glitter” on at 9 Superman’s. Took me 24:20. Next time though, I do my time prior to holding the plank as ultimately I should be able to complete it faster and hold the plank longer. Great quick workout that requires minimal space!
Yes Veronica the 5 Burpees were a Christmas gift from me. You know I wanted to put them at 10 but I was fair and wanted to ensure safety first 🙂 That’s great! Let us know what your total time was and what your plank time was so they are separated. Great work! So proud of you.
Hey Trina, this scares me! Lol…
Should we be doing it on workout days as well?
Hi Tina,
Great question and don’t let the challenge scare you it’s awesome. It depends on the class you are doing. You could either do it just 12 reps to one and maybe repeat it once or twice to keep you moving but not to go overboard or you could rock out the challenge in the am and go a little lighter in class. Ultimately, listen to your body and see how it feels and recovers. Don’t forget lots of healthy food and nutrition to recover from workouts of course. Post your time.
Day 2 – did the challenge again this morning – took a little longer than yesterday, but I’m sore after yesterday (challenge in the morning and Amber’s class last night). And I was able to plank at the end for a little longer! Will do it again tomorrow for day 3!
Great work Denise! On days you are not fully recovered it will be much harder. Way to be motivated and keep it up! Let us know your time again when you are recovered. Great job on the plank!
Day 2 – a bit faster than yesterday and a longer max plank. 19:35 with max plank! Hopefully, I will have better results tomorrow too! 😀
I completed the challenge…I didn’t time myself today but I did manage to complete it before one of the kids needed me and that was my goal for my first day with it 🙂 By the 5 Barking Burpees! I was sweating up a storm!! Thanks Trina, I need this!!!
Good girl Alex! So proud of you and you are so welcome!
First time with challenge…now that’s a good one Trina! 20:36 and planked 1:07. Plank time needs some improvement for sure!
2nd time doing the 12 days workout. Time 27:25. Plank 57 seconds. Faster then the first time but I can and will do better next time!
Did better today! Finished my reps quicker and lengthened my plank. 23:27.
Still sore from tabata last night but managed to finish in 19:38 tonight!
I need my husband watching me more often! Full workout in 21:40 with the plank being a 1:10. Im doing the planks on my toes for the extra challenge. My goal by the end of the holiday is to hold the plank for 2 minutes.
I had a ‘pity party’ for 2 weeks, but it’s over!
Did the challenge in 18:50 with a 1:01 plank. I will be back with my improved time tomorrow!!
Did the challenge today on my lunch! Completed it this time in 11:24 with a plank max of 3:17!
A total time of 14:41! I was slower this time around but held onto the plank a little longer 🙂
THANK YOU!! Jenn Burleigh? for inspiring me to be better and faster I completed this challenge in 13:20, after I did the MOM challenge, My best time yet!! With 1 minute and 30 second plank
Rough day today…slept in, flat tire, a million things to do when I got home from work and all I want to do is sleep. My shoulders are really sore from the combination of boot camp and the 12 days of Christmas workout, so I decided that I would take today off from the challenge. Tomorrow is a new day – and a perfect one for day 5 of the challenge for me.
Had a better day today. 17:50 with a plank of 1:20. I also managed to get a run in on the treadmill before doing the 12 days. Thanks Trina.
Haven’t worked in a few days, decided to complete the 12 days of Christmas, It became a family affair with my two year old and four year old sons doing burpees, hip thrusts and swimmers. Made my day! Finished in 14:59 with a minute plank.
Thanks Trina for posting this challenge.
