Post Workout Snack Chocolate Salted Dates
This recipe is gluten free, dairy free, nut free option, no bake recipe. Its a perfect pre or post workout snack. Who am I kidding? It’s good anytime! We address all of the food and nutrition goodies in our Nutrition Ninja program.

Ingredients
- 8-12 fresh whole dates *more or less if you prefer
- 1/4 of any nut or nut free butter *we use peanut and almond butter
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate or chocolate chips
- Pink Himalayan or sea salt to top
How to Make
Cut a small slit in the middle of the date top to bottom *remove pit if it has one
Lay dates on parchment paper
Use a butter knife to add any type of nut /nut free butter to the centre
Melt chocolate on top of stove *we use a stainless steel bowl on top of a pot with boiling water
Once chocolate is melted, dip one at a time into the melted chocolate or drizzle chocolate on top
When finished, top with a bit of himalayan or sea salt
Put in refrigerator to set or eat right away
Trina’s Tidbits:
This recipe is easy to make and my kids love them. They are the perfect pre and post workout snack. Date quality is essential for this. Choose big medjool dates if possible. If they are too dry, they won’t taste good.

Most of the time you want to support your body with great food. When you don’t eat perfect, no worries. It’s great to shock your body every now and again with the “unhealthier” treats. I love me some loaded nachos but I can’t eat them every day. Neither can you.
