Meet Natalie. This is an incredible post partum transformation story after having a grade 2 prolapse and becoming stronger than ever. Natalie came to Stroller Fitness ready to work off the post partum baby weight. She was easy to coach but like every Mom, she wanted her body back. Her rehab was slow and steady because she had to heal a prolapse. Natalie is an inspiration to remind you about taking the time to rehab and heal post baby. You gave birth to a human, choose your exercise program wisely and make sure you are not making things worse.
Natalie’s Post Partum Spotlight
Tell us WHEN and WHY you joined Fit4Females
I joined 3 months post partum and it was the best thing I did. My cousin Charleigh had done it with her first baby and we joined together as she said great things about it. I had a few struggles early (grade 2 prolapse after a 37 hour labour and issues with my bowels post baby). I started slowly with the advice of Trina to see a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist and with modified workouts, I took a slow pace to start then really ramped it up doing night and Saturday Boot Camp once my body healed!
Tell us about your first Fit4Females workout and what made you stick with us
I didn’t love doing modified workouts at the beginning but I learned SO much about how important it is to allow our bodies to heal internally before you go back to an intense workout. The slow, and focused movements early, were crucial for someone in my position. I knew I was in good hands.
Why do you love Fit4Females and the Team Leaders?
It’s truly a place that allows you to be open and honest about the every day struggles while adjusting to the role as a new Mom. The Leaders are always positive and love to help where they can by modifying your personal workout, or simply taking your baby who needs to be pushed around while you get a good sweat on.
If you need to vent, or nurse your baby – you can do so with no judgment. It’s a space you connect with people in the exact same boat – with body struggles and emotional days.
What has Fit4Females done to go above and beyond?
I feel STRONG & that is something I missed. I have fallen back in love with loving my body. It’s not easy at all, and as women, we are so tough on ourselves but F4F has made me want to continue to push myself but also love and appreciate what my body did for 9 months. The daily encouragement from these Leaders keeps me coming back.
What has been your biggest non-scale win since joining Fit4Females?
No question, my strength. I’ve always been an athletic girl, but I feel stronger than ever and THAT is an amazing feeling. I don’t ever use a scale, but I can feel my muscles building and in turn I know that’s crucial to losing the baby weight.
Here’s your chance to brag about your wins!
Starting your morning off with a killer Stroller Fitness class is the absolute best. You get home by 11am and have already sweat and these mornings happen sometimes after nights of little sleep. There’s no better “Super Mom” feeling than a morning Stroller Fitness Class workout.
Night classes are also a kick ass feeling because as new Moms, were exhausted and usually by 8pm we want to shut it down. When I do an evening Boot Camp Class, I walk out of it feeling absolutely amazing. Not only did I crush a day job of being a Mom, I kicked the days booty with a tough sweat to then wake up feeling sore and accomplished.
Having friends & family who encourage my lifestyle after the most aggressive 9 months of body change is so important. The Fit4Females community has become a family of its own. We encourage each other and understand the tough days.
Any encouraging advice you can share with our Readers that are not putting themselves first or nervous to join?
DO IT. Take the time to yourself, and meeting women who understand and feel what you do. Don’t feel ashamed to talk about the struggles and don’t put so much pressure on yourself to lose the weight quickly.
My biggest mistake was thinking I’d bounce back quickly, our bodies have been through an aggressive journey and we owe it to ourselves to go back slowly. The results will show in time – hardest thing to understand post partum.
Share your best “make it happen” FIT Tip
When it’s been a tough night, and you wake up and feel deflated, know that others do to Go see the women at Fit4Females who can relate and sweat it all out. It’s the best therapy!
What do you want to accomplish in the next 90 days?
I’m headed to San Diego for a new adventure with my family. It’s a new place and I will be building a new routine. I plan to keep fitness as a priority in that routine. I would like to push the limits with cardio and continue to lift heavier and continue to feel stronger.
Anything else you would love to share?
