I’ve heard every excuse in the book when it comes to working out – “I’m too busy, I don’t have time, I don’t have money, it’s not a priority, it’s too hot, it’s too cold, I’m too tired, I will start tomorrow, on and on. I call BS! There are times when real life emergencies take us temporarily away from our workouts but not on a regular basis. Most of the time it’s just excuses and we’ve scheduled our lives with things we think are more important than our health. I schedule my workouts in like any other activity, if I don’t, it doesn’t happen. Who doesn’t have time to better their health? Wait until injury or illness strikes, sweating and moving suddenly become a priority. Stop your EXCUSES and start right now, not tomorrow!
KIS – Keep It Simple
Stop thinking so big, it doesn’t have to be an hour at the gym or in a class, it doesn’t have to cost a penny, take a walk, sprint down the street, climb the stairs at work or at the mall or find a park bench and hit it hard. A lot of times you will find me outdoors on a city park bench getting in my steps ups, dips, etc. Motivate yourself and motivate others.
Winter is here and it’s cold! The more you get outside and enjoy nature and the beautiful outdoors, the more you will learn to LOVE it. As part of my rehab after my hip surgery, my husband and I walk every morning at 7am before we start our work day. As busy working professionals, most days one of us can and do come up with some reason why we are “just too busy for our morning walk”. We are quick to call each other out with a friendly reminder that the excuses are BS! So we do it every morning.
Enjoy this Fit4Females Outdoor Fall / Winter Workout
Bench Hop Overs 10 to 20 reps each side *land single leg if you are just starting out
Step Ups 10 to 20 reps each side
Bench Tricep Pushups *12 total
Repeat this as many times as you can in 6 minutes, otherwise do 4 sets – whatever you can fit in. Quick, efficient and it doesn’t cost a penny! Always remember to warm up first and stretch after. Take is slow and steady if you are new.
