Here are some Meat Free Meal ideas that contain a good amount of protein.  Can you relate to this message we received from our Member Taylor:  “I am obsessed with meat. My body craves the protein. However, I am trying to cut back on my meat consumption. I was wondering you have any meat alternative meals that are high in protein!? Send me some recipes”.  You ask! We deliver!
If your body is craving meat you might need the iron, especially if it’s red meat that you are craving.  Sometimes we have to just listen to our bodies and trust what it needs.  If you are trying to cut back, fish, turkey and chicken are always good options to kick the habit but there are also lots of plant based options listed below.  Here are some things I reach for when I need my protein fix and less meat.

Meat Free Alternative Ingredients 

Make ahead:  Avocado *Guacamole, Beans, Nuts (soaked overnight) and Quinoa (rinse the quinoa before cooking).
Beans:  Unsalted beans like navy, kidney, black beans, white beans, great northern beans (preferably soaked).
Seeds:  chia, hemp seeds, pumpkin, poppy, sesame
Nuts: Nuts and nut butters
More Meat alternatives:  Quinoa, lentils, pumpkin protein powder is a good alternative for shakes, green peas, broccoli, chicpeas/garbanzo, edamame, eggs, high fat yogurt, tofu and tempeh

Meat Free Recipes

Try these easy to make meat free recipes.  Tried and tested on my family and even my kids love them!  Remember that nuts, seeds and vegetables have lots of protein too!
  1. Breakfast Avocado Boats – you could sub for NON GMO tempeh Click here for the recipe
  2. Chili cut the meat and sub with quinoa, tempeh or extra beans that have lower net carbs.  It’s delicious in the crockpot  – top with Hemp seeds
  3. Here are 10 Breakfast Ideas Recipes with a combination of smoothies, eggs, ezekiel toast and more.
  4. Sweet Potato Fajitas:  Just like fajitas with any veggies and mix but substitute the meat for sweet potatoes *recipe to come but you can make it any way you like!
  5. Make Ahead Quick Fix Mason Jars:  Try this recipe and add any of the above quickie meat alternatives to it
  6. Clean Roasted Veggie Soup with Pumpkin Seeds on top
  7. 10 Ingredient Lean and Clean Soup 
  8. Guacamole on top of everything of course.  It’s loaded with healthy fats.
  9. Chocolate Banana Protein Smoothie
  10. Yogurt Protein Parfait for breakfast or a snack
