Eat clean with these Lean Lettuce Taco Wraps.  Reduce your carb intake, the bloating and crash you get after eating heavy starches.  My kids love to Tacos on a wrap and my husband and I do a Lettuce Taco Wrap or a Taco Salad.  You can enjoy it for lunch or dinner and it’s great because it’s quick and healthy.  The most difficult part was prepping the veggies and shredding the cheese. Who wants to join me and try this easy recipe?

Skip the store bought taco seasoning and try these natural ones.  This is my go to recipe when I am strapped for time with the kids and I want to eat healthy.  Cook extra meat and freeze it in portions as you need it.  If you want to splurge, you can save the meat for a Nacho night too.  My favourite.  Enjoy!

Veggie Prep work

  • Shredded romaine or kale
  • Shredded goats mozzarella or cow’s mozzarella
  • Diced fresh tomatoes
  • Cut up sweet and red onions
  • Green onions to top if you like
  • Wash pieces of Boston Lettuce or Romaine to use as the wrap

Sautée and Cook

Brown both red and sweet onions with water, cook until soft – set aside

Brown meat use lean or extra lean ground beef / chicken turkey (in the same pan with the natural onion flavour)

Add Chilli Powder:  skip the taco seasoning and add 1 tbsp of Chilli Powder while browning the meat (I always add a little water)

Pieces of Boston Lettuce or Romaine to use as the wrap

Put together and enjoy!

Clean Kitchen Challenge

Take my 6 Tips for a Clean Kitchen Challenge and start towards replacing foods towards a healthier you, take a good look at your kitchen, the fridge, what’s hiding in your cupboards, the packed pantry – and replace all things that might tempt you.

Start small and replace them with better food choices!  They are not off limits but rather renting up space in a body that doesn’t need them.  Replace vegetable or canola oil with organic extra virgin olive (cold pressed) oil or coconut oil.

Mini steps champ!  Replace items with too much added sugar, reduce processed food, trash old expired items, organize it so it looks inspiring and makes you happy when you open the fridge, cupboard or pantry.
