We know children learn from what they see us doing so it is important to be good example. Are you living a life that someone else can look up to and want to learn from?
This week’s Member Spotlight shines on Laura Knisley. She initially joined Fit4Females because of our Team Leader Julie but if you have ever been in class with this beauty, you would clearly see that Laura inspires others to make positive changes in their own lives. I don’t think she realizes the impact she has on a class! Laura makes you feel welcomed and is someone you want to partner up with to give you that extra push in your workout. Her gentle, kind demeanor would never show that she has her own personal struggles.
Laura Knisley, Member Spotlight
Tell us why you joined Fit4Females?
I joined F4F because of Julie Burgess-Nichols. I saw all of the positive changes Julie was making and her many accomplishments. At that time I was going through a lot in my personal life and was looking for a way to shake up my routine. I spoke to Julie and she had nothing but amazing things to say about F4F so I decided to jump on board and I have never looked back!
What draws you into coming back each session?
The members, Team Leaders, and of course the classes. The members whether they have been around awhile or are new comers are such a strong bunch of women, there is no judgment just each person coming out to make changes in their lives. Whether the members realize it or not we each keep each other motivated, accountable and make us push our limits and then set new ones.
Why do you love Trina and the other Team Leaders?
Trina and the other Team Leaders are amazing and honestly I can’t say enough about them. Trina works hard to ensure that she has nothing but the best teaching and leading us. Then there is the positive energy, enthusiasm and motivation they exude that constantly pushes members to bring it and give it their all and then just when you think you don’t have anything left they manage to get that little bit more out of you. They constantly are coming up with new and challenging ways to kick our butts.
What is the best part of this session?
The best part of the session is the feeling I have after class. The sense of accomplishment, I feel stronger, I feel leaner, plain and simple I feel better about me. Sometimes it’s the days when you fight whether or not to go to class and once you are there and finish it feels like you burnt all of the “negativeness” from your day and all that is left of it, is the sweat on the floor.
Any encouraging advice you can share with our Readers?
I would like to share is a few things; we are all built differently and can only strive to be the best you that you can be. As women we are our toughest critics and I am no stranger to this. I have learned and am still learning and working to change my thinking and my inner critic. One setback doesn’t mean it is a failure it is what is… simply a setback. Finally, don’t be afraid to try something out of your comfort zone, sometimes the hardest thing to do is to walk through the door but once you do you won’t regret it!
Laura is rocking our Hard Core Pass this upcoming session and making herself a priority with attending multiple evening classes a week. I challenge you to partner up with Laura and get that little extra out of your workout and the next time you see her, give her a big high-five!
