“Trina has Unleashed a Fitness Goddess in me”.  It is my privilege to shine the spotlight on Erika.   I have a BIG passion for helping Moms and when Erika found me she was insecure and unsure of her life passion.  Not only is she an incredible member, I convinced her that she would be a great addition to my Team at Fit4Females.  I mentored her over the years, she got certified and I am proud to share this beautiful story of an incredible Mom of 3.

Tell us WHEN and WHY you joined Fit4Females

People come in and out of your life for a reason and there is no doubt in my mind that Trina was supposed to come into mine and change my life for the better.  At a time when I felt very vulnerable and insecure after having my first baby in 2013, I found Trina and I can not say it enough, as it was then that I found myself and a life mentor that I cherish.

Tell us about your first Fit4Females workout and what made you stick with us

From the first class that Trina taught, I was hooked.  Her personality and presence shone as bright as the sun.  You leave class feeling empowered and ready to take on whatever the day has to throw at you.  She teaches you that it’s not selfish to take care of yourself and as a new mom that was reassuring to know.  As a Mom, you  feel stretched thin giving yourself to your baby and family.  These past four years have been my best yet in regards to health and fitness.  Trina has unleashed a fitness goddess within me that I didn’t know I possessed!  I carry myself in a different way loaded with self-confidence and an attitude towards life that I am in control of my surroundings.

Why do you love Fit4Females and the Team Leaders?

Trina’s passion is infectious (in the good kind of way)!  I have spent the majority of my adult life unsure of what my passion was and what I wanted to do when “I grew up”.  As a result of Trina’s love of fitness and helping women become better versions of themselves, I started seeing myself pursuing a career like Trina’s.  In 2015 I took a leap of faith and registered myself in the canfitpro Fitness Instructor Specialist course, and in February of 2016, I became a certified Fitness Instructor Specialist.  I would not have seen myself doing this if Trina hadn’t come into my life 4 years ago and inspired me to help others like she has.  I now want to specialize in Pre & Post Natal Fitness with emphasis on protecting the pelvic floor.

What has Fit4Females done to go above and beyond?

Throughout my years at Fit4Females, I have witnessed amazing things by the hand of Trina.  I have seen Moms lose weight in a safe and effective manner, I have seen her uplift and empower all of her Members by offering a welcoming and safe place to sweat it out without judgment.  She has created Programs that have been life changing where the focus has not been the weight loss, but instead creating a life that is worth living.  She has given countless hours in the pursuit of helping those around her because she wants everyone to experience a little good in their lives!

What has been your biggest non-scale win since joining Fit4Females?

Looking in the mirror and seeing a sexy woman even though I am not at my “goal weight”.  I truly love myself with all the jiggle and double chins.  Read more on my self-journey journey here.

Any encouraging advice you can share with our Readers that are not putting themselves first or nervous to join?

We all have to start somewhere.  There was a time where I couldn’t do a single pushup but with perseverance and Fit4Females’ constant encouragement,  I accomplished what was once impossible.

Share your best “make it happen” FIT Tip

As I sat on my couch folding laundry, I couldn’t help but think how laundry and our own health journey are so alike.  Where am I going with this?  Doing a load of laundry every other day or so doesn’t take much time to complete and may seem a little annoying but you can get through it and go about your day with very little interruption.  Now, due to life and the lack of desire to do laundry for a few days and because you have a family of 5 with 3 messy kids, there is now 5 loads of laundry that need to be washed, dried, folded and then put away.  URGHHHHH that small task of a single load of laundry is now multiplied by 5 and instead of taking 20 minutes, you now have spent 5 hours on trying to get every load done, and, if you are anything like me that 5 hours is broken up into a few days, and then there are more loads of laundry that must be done.  Do you see this vicious cycle that has happened all because I didn’t keep up with the single loads of laundry?

Think of Health like This…

Maintaining good health and weight takes a little bit of planning and can be annoying but there is no big life changing consequences.  But then there is a day where you emotionally eat, didn’t get enough sleep, essentially life happened, and you fall off the gravy train.  A day turns into a week, a month, a year.  You are now at the point of 5 loads laundry.  Regaining your health now takes weeks, months or years to achieve.

My FIT Tip? Keep on top of your laundry 😉

What do you want to accomplish in the next 90 days?

I will finish a course related to pre/postnatal fitness.  Always hungry to build my knowledge.

Anything else you would love to share?

It takes more than 21 days to achieve long lasting results.  You need to keep working at maintaining and keeping yourself accountable to a coach, your fitness family or your loved ones.
