Caesar Salad Dressing is a popular choice but the bottled versions have lots of additives. My first choice for salad dressing is my Mason Jar Salad Dressing recipe here. I was never a fan of Caesar Dressing until this homemade version. It’s delicious, creamy and my three kids love it for dipping raw veggies. Goodbye ranch dressing and bottled anything. I make the caesar dressing ahead of time, store it in a mason jar and use it for lunches and salad whenever we need it.

Caesar Salad Dressing
I prefer the simple version because I always have the 6 ingredients on hang. We have also included a fancy version for you.
“Caesar dressing can pack a lot of nasties if you are using store bought. Soybean oil.. sugar, non organic egg yolks, added gums and emulsifiers to thicken..the list goes on. Luckily it is incredibly easy to make your own in 5 minutes with a handful of pantry and fridge staples. Bonus: this dressing is packed with protein from hemp seeds and its vegan! It is creamy, savoury, tastes just like classic Caesar dressing. This dressing tastes great tossed with romaine lettuce, real bacon and some croutons (I love crispy chickpeas for a gluten free option) and is perfect for dipping veggies or using as a spread on sandwiches and more.”
Simple Version: Hemp Caesar Salad Dressing
- 1/2 cup Hemp Hearts
- 2 Cloves garlic
- Juice of 1 whole lemon
- 1 tbsp Tamari
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup of Olive oil
- Lots of ground pepper and pink salt!
Start Vitamix with all ingredients inside and slowly add about 1/3- to 1/2 cup of olive oil until creamy and smooth
Perfect for any Salad

This is how it turns out

Fancy Version: Hemp Caesar Salad Dressing

- Juice from 1 large lemon + little zest
- 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar (or white wine vinegar)
- 1 tablespoon Tamari or coconut aminos
- A few tbsp of water to thin it out
- salt/black pepper to taste
- 1-2 tbsp nutritional yeast (optional, adds “cheesy” flavour)

Add all ingredients to a high powered blender (except olive oil and water) and blend for few seconds. Slowly stream in olive oil and blend until everything is creamy and smooth. Add water 1 tbsp at a time until desired thickness is reached. Salt and pepper to taste and pour into a glass jar and store in fridge for up to 1 week.
