Today’s spotlight is an inspiring one. I can’t say enough that our Members are the best support and Community in the City. I won #1 Fitness Instructor in Canada for 2016 and our Members are also #1. Meet Ashley, she had six surgeries, was depressed and attending gym after gym but her workout clothes were getting dusty. She found Fit4Females and hasn’t looked back. This girl is always ready for anything we throw at her. Read her inspirational Member Spotlight.

Tell us why you joined Fit4Females
I suffer from glaucoma and was told I needed emergency eye surgery about five years ago. After many eye appointments, six surgeries, and a whole lot of ups and downs on what I like to call my emotional roller coaster, I was told by my doctor that I could get back to intense physical activity a few years back. I had fallen into somewhat of a depression. My mental health had taken a toll, and my physical health was on its way out as well. I signed up, gym after gym, but still I found that I was paying a monthly fee while my workout clothes collected dust! I joined Fit4Females because I needed something that was actually going to work for me.
Tell us about your first Fit4Females workout and what made you stick with us.
I can remember walking up the stairs to my first class. I was nervous because it had been so long since I had worked out. But I could not have felt more comfortable! It was such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone was super encouraging, and the class was TOUGH!! I left all sweaty, feeling out of breath and loved it. I had never pushed myself so hard and knew this was the right fit for me.
Why do you love Fit4Females and the Team Leaders?
What I love about Fit4Females is the variety of classes. I love how all members push one another and I love how it feels like a private lesson. The Team Leaders are awesome too! They are constantly changing things up, and have the ability to modify any movement due to injury or fitness level.
What improvements and changes have you made both physically and mentally since joining Fit4Females?
I can feel that I am stronger since joining. I’ve pushed myself harder than I ever thought imaginable. I’ve learned that I need to make time for myself and make fitness a priority. Class is a time where I can let all of my stresses from the day melt away, it really helps to clear my mind of the negative because I am doing something so positive for myself. I even joined the 28 Day Shape Up Challenge a few months back. I wanted to take things to the next level. Nutrition is a major part in living a healthy life, and the program really helped me to be a lot more aware of my food choices. All in all, I wanted a kick start to a healthier lifestyle change and between working out and eating better I am well on my way!
Any encouraging advice you can share with our Readers that are not putting themselves first or nervous to join?
