Today we are shining the Spotlight on a five year veteran Member and one of our Award-winning Programs: PiYo. If you have not had a chance to try this rocking body weight workout, you are truly missing out!
“I love PiYo because it is so challenging. You feel yourself getting stronger and you feel so accomplished each time you master a move. It seems so effortless for Tara but she never makes us feel silly if we are having difficulty. She is very motivating. It is a nice change from other exercise, you sweat a lot and the class goes so fast because you are working hard and doing different tracks every few minutes.”- Abigail C.
Abigail is our Member Spotlight! This five year veteran shows us that even with a busy family schedule, Abigail finds the motivation and the time to come to class because she knows the importance of attending OUR classes!

Tell us why you joined Fit4Females?
I joined Fit4Females when my youngest child was five months old. I also had a two-year-old and my dad was sick. I wanted to exercise but needed the extra motivation of the classes and Trainers. I also wanted somewhere to go that wasn’t home or the hospital.
What draws you into coming back each session?
My children are now 5 and 7. I did take a break when I went back to work because I found it hard to make it to evening classes. But I came back. I started by doing Stroller classes (without the stroller!) because I find it easier to work out in the morning. The Team Leaders and fellow moms didn’t even care that I didn’t have a baby with me and were very welcoming. I work harder in the classes than I would at home and I love the variety of the circuits/exercises. I always learn something new too. I also do a night class now. Even though it is hard to get back out of my house at 8 p.m., I know it will always be worth it.
Why do you love Trina and the other Team Leaders?
Trina and all of the Team Leaders are so friendly and motivating. They keep the classes challenging, exciting and fun. They also teach about the proper way to do the exercises, modifications, etc. I have some issues with my hips and Trina always makes sure I am not doing anything that might harm my body. I used to feel that if I did modifications, I would not get as good a workout. She is always showing me that I can do modifications and still work hard.
What is the best part of this session?
The end. No offence! It is because I often find myself doing something I didn’t know I could – toe pushups, battle ropes or lifting a heavier weight than before. I always feel more accomplished and energized at the end of a class and I feel stronger.
Any encouraging advice you can share with our Readers?
Just go! It is hard to get out at 8 p.m. but I always feel glad I went to class. (Practical tip – I go on a night when my kids have a class ending just before 8, so I am already out and active and don’t have to get up off the couch!) I am not able to do a Hard Core pass so I have only ever gone to one to two classes a week. Although it is better to make it to more classes, if you can even go to just one, it still makes a difference. You get the benefits of that great workout and it also spills over into other areas of your life. I use what I learn in class to exercise at home and to think about how I eat, fit in stretching, etc. Do as much as you can and take advantage of it!
